Since the 2012 vintage, our Hassapfel site has produced the first German Auxerrois wine from a Grosse Lage.
Auxerrois belongs to the Burgundy family and is one of the classic grape varieties for the Kraichgau. The grape variety is very demanding on sites, which is why it grows on southeast-facing slopes at the Heitlinger winery. Cool forest thermals on the sites stabilize the acidity and add freshness to the wines. Skeletal soils with high lime content.
Ripe fruit. Creamy, concentrated. Fine aromas of mirabelle plum, walnut skin and fresh apple skin.
To grilled fish, white meat, salads, poultry and asparagus.
