Since 2008, we have been storing a portion of each vintage of our VDP.GROSSEN GEWÄCHSEN® in order to put them on sale at a later date with perfect maturity. All wines carry our WINE-LIBRARY seal.
The year starts cold with lots of snow, followed by a sunny, warm April. With an explosive budbreak and early flowering, we started a dry year with three weeks of vegetation ahead. With an early start to harvest in early September, sunny, dry weather helped produce perfect, golden grapes.
Also a wine from our anniversary vintage, perfect for a powerful, full-bodied Pinot Gris that we like to describe as a classic, Baden type, with a very clear nose and well-integrated alcohol. Its seductive nature is underscored by eucalyptus, mineral notes and licorice on the finish.
Food pairing: Roquefort, aged cheeses, cigar.
